This is very true. I didn't mention this, but post tough ride recovery works for me, that is stretching and eating the right things helps me a lot in how I'd feel the next morning. I've been noticing though that my legs don't get really sore anymore, the strain is there in way of tire legs but no soreness, the way I used to feel after, say a weight squat workout.
