Ride in was fine, ride home was a little eventful. I saw a car turned the wrong way up ahead blocking an intersection, a fire truck and ambulance behind it, and a cop detouring traffic. I thought it was an accident, so rather than detouring with the cars I decided to walk half a block around the "accident" and continue on my way. I got halfway down the block before I noticed the SWAT team exiting a large van and donning their gear. Then I looked to my right down an alleyway and saw a mass of cop cars...that's when I heard the police helicopters overhead. Oops! I biked as fast as I could out of that mess! I assume they were looking for a fugitive of some sort. Not that unusual, unfortunately, but I didn't want to be in the middle of it!
