I think it does compare fwiw. My older daughter is in a middle school band (moving to HS) and plays a woodwind. I hear an awful lot about comparisons with brass, strings and etc. People like to classify.
My point was that the comparison is being done for a different reason on a different level. It's like comparing baseball positions. Anyone on the team can argue that there position is more important or that there isn't enough focus on their position, but all the players are on the same team. They all have the same goal to win the game. They all add to the result. They may not be the same shape apple, but they are all still apples.
That is nothing like assigning names to different groups of riders just because they ride for different reasons.
