My Alloro has Shimano 600 everything with STI brifters, deraillers, crankset, seatpost, etc. It has Bontrager Race Lite wheels and since my budget was limited I have been riding on some cheapo Michelin tires and some free Celeste tape that was given to me by a shop I stopped at when trying to decide colors. I just swapped out the vintage Flite ti seat for a Flite TransAm with the cutuout. I don't have a current pic showing the new seat and wheels, but here is one from last summer...

I love the look of your ride, Dhorn. Very nicely done. I've secretly been considering the celeste bartape - Fizik makes a Celeste version of it's microtex (EDIT - cheaper price here). And thanks for letting me use your photo - it's hard to find photos of the Alloro many other places.

And like you, I'm trying to keep costs low right now. I might get stuck going with the most cost-effective tire, rather than the most racy.

I have a pair of 27" Paselas on my 70's Moto, and they ride like true touring/rando tires with a wide and pretty rugged tread. I was trying to steer away from that with the new tire selection for the Alloro, but haven't ridden on 23mm Paselas. My weight really isn't an issue - I'm relatively fit (6'1" and 185 lbs). I'm still in my mid 20's and I'm looking to make this my speedy/sporty hoss'.

I guess my only reservation with the 23mm Paselas is that with their tread they'll be more "touring/urban/commuter" tires than slick speedies...but I trust your endorsement, and at around $15-30 less than the Michelins or Conti GP4000's, they're definitely tempting (Harris has them for $19.95, there are also cream versions but they sell for more).
