The first edition of the Elita GXP did, indeed, have a crankarm that came loose. Find some bikes that were specced with that crankset around 2005-2006 (e.g., Kona Jake) and see how many of them still have the original crankset.

The current "2.2" edition, no idea. I have a Rouleur that doesn't seem to have any problems.
