Need help with buying a road bike

Hi, I would like some help with buying a road bike. Since I have gotten into biking i've been riding old POS vintage bikes that are always falling apart. My old motobecane lists to the right and slides sideways whenever I brake. My other bike is an old Nishiki that I found under my friends porch. I have spent hours and hours fixing it, but it isn't working out. I think I am going to buy a working road bike.

Being in high school, i have a very very low budget ($200) and so I am looking on craigslist. The bikes I am looking at are Aluminum Treks from the late 80's/90's. One I am considering is this:

Is this a fair deal? and If I bought this bike would it nickel and dime me with worn out parts, etc like my other bikes?

and is there anything I should know about the older aluminum treks?
