If this is just for the track why not get tubulars? Also maybe a dura-ace or campy record or 75's instead of the Miche? With $1200 for just components you can really just pick parts you like and you'll be under budget. $380 crankset and bb, $300 for wheelset, $30 cog, $10 lockring, $30 chain, $100 saddle, $90 seatpost, $90 stem, $50 bars, $10 grips. Pedals not included thats $1090. With a little effort in bargain hunting that will go down, possibly quite a bit.
