One of the best ways to do it is to form a group that meets early in the morning. We have a cycling group that meets each day during the week at 0545. At first I thought "No way in h*ll am I getting up that early", but then I thought, well, why not just commit to one week, and then I'd quit. Just one week. It only took three days to get hooked and I never quit.

We ride all year, winter and summer, light and dark. We all have lights for safety. There were a couple eight-day periods here in the Northeast with blizzards that kept us in, but cold and dark certainly doesn't.

But the point of my rambling is that if you form a *group*, then you feel obligated to show up, so participation is good.
