Hi Brian,
I am glad you aren't soured on cops in general because of this incident. As mentioned above, cops are just like everybody else...good and bad...only cops in general have a slightly greater power orientation...lol...which they need sometimes to survive on the streets. I would NEVER want to be a cop and put myself in harms way each day for what they get paid or for any salary and deal with all the desperate people they have to contend with. Superimpose very little respect and often times scorn from the community and it is no wonder that many cops who go into the profession with the hope of making a difference get tainted by what they experience. I believe it takes an extraordinary man or women to stay objective in the face of all they see. I would never want to subject myself to it for one day let alone a steady diet of adversity. You and I could have a good discussion about race relations in this country over a beer, but this is probably not the place to discuss it.
