if you do intervals, just make sure you're warmed up first. i would ride easy for the first 5 miles at least before doing them. remember, you'll be pushing your heart rate very high and putting out a lot of effort during the interval, so you should be warmed up well to prevent injury. try to cool down by spinning slowly toward the end of the ride. your 15 miles will be over like that *snaps finger*.
