I would think it would be too easy to accidentally clip in.
Those platform style pedals have nubs to grip to bottom of the shoe. This limits the slipping around / accidental clipping in. This does not mean that they are suitable for regular street shoe use.
I also greatly prefer the Time ATAC pedals for most of the reasons previously mentioned.
