I'm trying to understand your question. Are you saying that the front and rear sprockets are a different thickness or are you refering to the chainline (distance of each sprocket relative to the centerline of the frame) ? If the front sprocket came from a single speed, it might require a 1/8 width chain, but that would work fine with the rear sprocket which works with a 3/32 width chain.
