In the mid-80's a guy in my dorm in college had a brilliant red Klein road bike. Since that time I've always wanted a Klein as part of my stable. Finally, today (thanks to the selling of my '97 Bianchi) I was able to get a Klein - only it's a mountain bike.
It's probably not going to qualify as classic or vintage, but since 95% of my time is spent here I had to post it. I purchased it from the original owner who bought it in Colorado while working at a bike shop. According to him it was an ugly, burnt orange color. He road it for awhile and then decided he hated the color and had it repainted by a shop that did Yeti's and other bikes. I would prefer an original color - but, what the heck. I can either get decals or leave it in "stealth" mode. Full Deore LX (rear derailleur is XT), Ritchey seatpost, Race 5 handlebars, Judy XC suspension fork, Ritchey SPD pedals, Matrix Swami rims with Michelin tubless tires. I haven't run those before and will probably switch to innertubes since I'm not doing any serious racing. The original cantilevers will get changed out to V-brakes for a little more leverage on some of the down hill I'll do. This thing is amazingly light and I'm looking forward to climbing some hills with it.
