You won't find the Big Box Schwinns on Schwinn's web site. That should tell you something about them.
I am riding a 06 schwinn fastback I have a little over 15k miles on it with no problems. It has a gold label enlightened aluminum frame with truvative cranks Sora shifters and tiagra derailures. I even crashed it once and it came away with a little scratched paint.
