not sure if bike friday rear rack or low rider will work, but here's how they would look:
http://www.bikeradar.com/gallery/art...ding%2Farticle - bike friday non-folding rear rack won't work with fold because seat post is too big to fit between rack mounts when folded. didn't actually try though.
old man mountain sherpa (works also on a dahon, see here:
http://forum.dahon.com/lofiversion/index.php?t1695.html . interferes with fold)
klickfix stem/riser extended adapter - too small for standard stem
klickfix stem adapter
klickfix handlebar adapter

i'm looking to carry 25 pounds (food, all weather gear, laptop, textbook, change of clothes, transit schedules), sometimes bulky (18 liters + 20 liters), split between two bags. when the bike is folded, i would like to be able to carry one bag on back, one bag by hand, and bike in other hand. on a daily basis, i expect to attach 2 bags, bike to car, break everything down, drive to commuter lot, put everything together, then bike into office and store bike at desk folded, detach one of bags for pedestrian mode.
my approach will be:
freepack sport w/klickfix seatpost extender mounted on riser
crossrack with its pannier on seat post
the limitations are the 11 pound limit on freepack riser mount (up to 15 pounds if mount to handlebar or closer to stem). steering is more cumbersome with weight attached to riser, and more energy need to keep steering in direction. brompton headtube block way better steering.
FUTURE COMBINATIONS SUMMARY:

*weight limits in lbs, volume in liters
*tubus fly still needs to be confirmed
*klickfix on headtube requires custom weld of dahon luggage bracket, if even possible
*brompton block on headtube requires custom weld, if even possible
*need to verify each pannier with rear rack system for heal clearance on 20" wheels
simplest waterproofing / covering mechanisms?
**after using the freepack on stem and pannier on crossrack. i don't like the ride, mostly from the stem mount moving with steering. the best would be, a backpack on headtube in front combined with something in rear on crossrack or regular rack. and ability to either carry 2 pieces along with bike, not too clumsily or combine 2 pieces into one when carried off bike**
