I don't know about that. In the desert, if I stopped for a light I'd have to get off my bike and pick it up off the pavement. The heat of the pavement would soften the rubber of the Kenda tires enough that the air pressure would push the sidewalls through the cords of the tires. I lost some tires that way but was able to avoid any immediate blow outs.
I lived and commuted in both Yuma and Phoenix, never had that problem with Contis.
