if your tyres are relatively new, you shouldn't worry too much about a flat. Don't let it dominate your thoughts. Of course be prepared with spare tube, pump, patch kit and levers but just carry that as a matter of course every ride and you won't have to think about it ever.
if you have a saddle bag, leave those things in there and you'll never forget it and you'll always have them when needed.
