There you go then, you ran over a deep pothole (I call those narrow ones tire grabbers). Stuff happens. I would probably pinch flat if I ran over a deep narrow pothole at speed too, most people would. That comes with the territory.

I was 180 (165 now) and I never had a problem with 100/110. I tried 120, and found it to be harsh and of no benefit. Over 3k miles, and not a single pinch flat. You could probably drop the psi by at least 10 and see no difference.

Like others have said, it is a very different style of riding. If you don't want to have to change how you ride, then by all means, sell the road bike and stick with your mtb.
