How experienced are you with a bike? A century may seem too soon after only 2 weeks of getting a bike. There are etiquette riding with a group, signaling, etc that you should know in advance before participating.
I've done organized rides on my hybrid. Also, it's a pretty rural ride, so I don't think this will be an issue...
