Impressive lights- Waiting for the truck.

Last night as I drove across Jersey's Pine Barrens on sleepy trafficless back roads I came to a stop sign at a T intersection. At midnight there is never any traffic at this intersection as the carpets are usually rolled up before the sun goes down. I was surprised to see that there was, in fact, opposing traffic. Judging from the width of the headlights, a truck was coming toward the intersection. I waited, I waited some more, Then I waited, still, some more. Then i noted that the truck was either moving very slowly or was stopped. I pulled out and drove towards the truck. It had very bright headlights. As I got closer i could see it wasn't a truck! It was two cyclist. Two cyclist with brightest headlight systems i'd ever seen! Impressive!!!!! With the lights I only got a look at one of the riders, and he/she was wearing a Hi-viz vest. Also both bikes had great tail light systems. Bike lighting systems have come a long way.

Once home a quick scan of the net showed that the NJ Randonners were running their Cranbury 600k this weekend. That explains the riders. Any guesses as to the lighting systems they were using?

And hats off to all the Cranbury 600k riders. An impressive feat!!!
