a couple of reflection on the weekend:
1) havent seen the GC times yet but theres a good chance that 11 sec i earned yesterday with my 1K attack kept me in 8th place. granted its just 8th vs 9th, but in principle, thats very satisfying. i was really excited to try a 1K, cuz it plays to my strength and seems like a good way for me to win when its coming down to a group finish.
2: i am looking forward to a stage race without a monster climb in the middle. i lost 3 minutes yesterday to the top 7 guys and made up a minute or two today on several of them at the TT, cant wait for a race where the climbing seperation isnt so severe, or barring that another omnium where the gaps dont matter. in anycase, i think stage racing suits me, minus the big damn 10 mile climb in the middle. (next spring i work on power to weight)
The hill in the middle of that race is a mountain pass. It's pretty gnarly. RE: Team Primal, last year they were real d*cks. They had about 12 guys in the race and they had guys sitting up across the road in the RR blocking people from getting up to the chasing group, not the lead group, just the chasing group. There was more super negative racing in the crit and the official pulled a bunch of them aside about something.
