If the steer tube is long enough and headset sizes are the same on the new frame as on the old LeMond why would you NOT move it over? Other than perhaps it's a threaded set or something? Still, if it all fits over I'd still go that way. After all, if the old frame is cracked then what good is the fork? I guess if the fork and headset is not compatible then trade it for parts that will fit.
