And, I understand and accept that if I drink beer all winter and don't work out, I'm certainly not going to lose any weight.
Here is my gripe:
During the cycling season, I drink LESS and eat better, plus I get way more exercise. Beer or no beer, I should be losing some weight- maybe not as much as if I quit drinking and ate nothing but to-fu- but I should at least be losing some. Less consumption of beer, better diet, and more exercise should be a recipe for at least some weight loss. Yet for me it is not for some reason.
Without knowing specifics about your situation it's hard to comment with precise advice. I can tell you from my professional experience that:
1. Everyone UNDERESTIMATES how much they eat and how often they eat it
2. Everyone UNDERESTIMATES how much alcohol they consume.
Take 2 weeks and write down everything you eat and the time of day you eat it at and during this same time REFRAIN COMPLETELY from alcohol just to see what happens. If you don't lose any weight, I'll never make another comment.
keeping a food log does 2 things; it lets you look for trends and see just how much your taking in as well as immediately issue a mental challenge to yourself. When you have to write down and face yourself with what you are consuming, you immediately start playing a game with yourself to cutdown your consumption.
