Straight gauge, I assume.

I skirt around most pot holes, but plenty get me pretty good. The Diagonale rims seem to take it no problem. I was running Panaracer Jack Brown tires for a few hundred miles, but had to switch to the Ruffy Tuffys to accommodate fenders on my frame. I've been very happy with both and the Pasela TG.

Tire size and pressure can go a long way in reducing frame stress to the bike and you. I like the Panaracer models with Kevlar because any perceived weight or speed advantage isn't worth the time it takes me to change a tire on a commute or errand run. I'd imagine this rim could handle any tire up to 45mm wide, but I'm not suggesting a tire that big. That said, I can't imagine anyone moving to tires 28-32mm for city riding wouldn't wonder to themselves why they hadn't done it sooner.

I'm also very glad I had the front rim built with a dynohub. I use a Schmidt E6 with no switch so it's always on.
