I have maybe 4 stoplights in the first 3,5 kilometers. Then follows my favorite part, about 10 km stretch of very low traffic paved MUP, good part of it by the sea shore. Then, 7 stoplights in the last 2 kms. If I really wanted to, I could take alternative routes to avoid 5 of the total 11 stoplights. Doing so would probably increase my commute distance by 5%.
Overall that averages to 0,3 - 0,7 lights per km, depending on routes I choose. Or, just counting the "stoplighted" sections and omitting the long idle stretch in the middle: 1-2 lights per km.
