I think this is a good idea. I feel like I became too obsessed about keeping a high cadence and spinning, that I never really got any big leg muscles. (My legs are pretty small too). I remember reading that that's something you want to focus on when you first start biking. I think I just stuck to it.

I'm fine spinning, until my heart rate gets high. Then I try to go in a lower cadence (which is still not even that low), but can't last much longer because of the strain on my legs.
