Nevertheless, if I follow things correctly, the frame already had a set of modern cable stops added to the top tube when he got it.

P.S.: For the record, if Drillium Dude really wanted it sans canti bosses, it isn't impossible for them to be heated off without damaging enough paint that the painter couldn't re-spray those areas to the point where said re-sprays wouldn't be noticeable. Personally, I would have made the painter do just that.
