OP you can save weight by buying new wheels. You can also save weight by buying a new bike. Which will get you farther in this case? If you were already riding something reasonably light than new wheels would make sense. But you're not, you're on a bottom of the line Allez. Also you wanted something more aero than what you got and Ksyrium Elites certainly do not fit the bill. You need something with at least 30mm rim depth to start getting some aero benefits.

Yep. $600 + $3-400 you can get selling your bike. That will get you close to a closeout deal on a CAAD 9-5 or something similar.
