Yes, you can endo at 5mph with almost any brakes. But what about modulating them comfortably at 30mph while barely lifting the rear wheel off the ground? From the hoods? Hydraulic is a superior technology by any measure. Way better feel and power which allows more controlled braking. Not sure why some want to fight it. I can't even ride a mtb with cable brakes after going hydraulic.
