damn guys. you have some nice bikes.

I have NEVER ridden a bmx before. I'm old (25) and I picked up this pile of absolute trash for 45 bucks.

as is:

The front wheel's untrue and the crank spindle's a little rounded so the left crankarm keeps working itself loose. aside from crappy brakes, the rest of the bike is heavy as hell and functional.

since i can't use them for anything, i took off the reflectors, chainguard, pegs and kickstand. that probably saved me a couple pounds actually, this department store crap is sooo heavy.
after adjusting the brakes and stripping some or most of the decals:

i'm pretty happy with it for a $45 beater... already taken it off some dirt jumps(actually got some very small air... so ****ing fun) and some pump section action at the i-5 collonade skills park. I am really not skilled enough at dirt riding to do much with it, but it's been great riding this thing around portland and seattle for the last few days.

if anyone has advice, please chime in-
if i can fix the crank problem with a ten dollar used crankset, i'm thinking that would be worth it... seriously i can't ride ten blocks or two passes of a set of jumps without the cranks working loose, no matter how tight i torque them down. i'm assuming the bike isn't worth putting much more than that into.
i'm also going to need to put a new inner tube in the back because my patches aren't holding after a flat today after hopping a curb with low pressure.

there's no point trying to convert to a 25 9 setup, i should just sell the bike and get a nicer bmx like a felt or something if i wanted to put any more than say twenty bucks into this bike, right?

it's fun as hell even as busted as it is.
