My Dinotte has several different patterns with differing frequencies. I'm not sure it matters much because the thing is so damned bright no one can look at it long enough to discern the pattern. When I combine it with a blue flashing light on my helmet I seem to get even more room, especially out in the rural areas. (I know, the blue light is technically not legal, but most cops seem to "get it" and look the other way in the name of safety.)
