If you like a pro team and want to wear their jersey, I'm fine with that. If you want to buy a Radio Shack bike, and kit, and shoes, and helmet, and pretend you're in the Tour, whatever, that doesn't bother me.
You want to wear a national championship jersey, or a WC jersey, that you didn't earn? You might as well go to the bar and tell women you were in the Olympics as far as I'm concerned. It's disrespectful to the jersey.
Past world champions aren't even allowed to wear the jersey anymore, just the stripes, so why should you be allowed?
You guys really lovewalking the line. Why is it disrespectful to wear a champion jersey and not a team jersey? If we are going to go down this road, I think if you have any extra body fat you shouldn't be on a race bike. I also think that if you can't hold 28mph for more than two minutes, you should sell your bike to someone that can use it correctly. After you ebay it, go to kmart and get a bicycle made of steel with ugly welds and plastic like tires. Go to your nearest Multi-Use trail, and ride with your fat girlfriend or wife.
