If she is sentenced to 15 years, there is nothing to keep her from only serving 5-7 years of it before being paroled. I do want her to receive a sentence of 15 years because I don't consider being on parole as time served. In order for her to actually serve the 5+ years
in jail I think is appropriate, she will need to be sentenced to 15 years.
There are tons of examples, and California seems to give the earliest paroles. Vermont's prison system is also very overcrowded, many Vermont felons are housed out of state.
