Running shorts, racing spikes or flats plus the same type of entry fees as bike races.

And yes, real running shoes from a running store usually start around $80-90.

Biking may be more expensive than running if you get a higher-end bike. But lets face it, not everyone needs or wants Dura Ace components on a Carbon Fiber frame.

I was just arguing that running was not the cheapest sport. Heck, probably pick-up basketball or frisbee is.
