84 Fuji Touring Series Headset & BB...

I'm revitalizing a neglected Fuji Touring Series III (catalogue image here) I snagged off of Craigslist for $40. It has been a slow project with many bumps along the road, but I most recently had it sandblasted and powdercoated a new color, and am now itching to begin the rebuild into my new commuting and touring rig. But I need C&V's help selecting the appropriate components - namely a new headset and BB.

I could keep the stock headset as the races are still sound with no pitting, but the bottom fork race has some exterior rust-related pitting from previous years of neglect. Fork race's inside diameter is 27mm. According to Sheldon (see "headset sizing"), any 26.4mm headset should fit my fork and steerer, even if mine has the JIS threading...right? If so, does anyone have any experience with the Tange NJS headsets? I'm kind of indifferent about the sealed vs unsealed debate - As long as it looks decent and does the job I'm happy. Any other recommendations I should consider?

The bike came equipped with a Sugino RT crankset, which I'll be reusing (with perhaps some alteration in chainring sizing), and the BB has english threaded cups into a standard 68mm BB shell. The spindle's markings say "3R", which isn't included in Sheldon's BB size database. But by referring to his diagram of spindle lengths, I hope C&V will be able to help me find the appropriate length of Bottom bracket spindle for my bike.

My spindle measurements are as follows:
D= 127mm
A= 32mm
B= 52mm
C= 39mm

This doesn't seem to jive perfectly with Sheldon's tables, and the "3R" spindle isn't on his list...so can someone clear up the length of Spindle I need to go with to keep the Triple useable?

Thanks, C&V. I'll keep the rebuild updated on the thread as I gather the few additional parts I'll be needing.
