Doesn't it get pretty grungy after a few uses if you just leave it in the cleaner gizmo? I was thinking more of a dribble on the chain from a squirt bottle and wipe it off with a paper towel.
Gunk settles out of the mix when you let it sit, but if he's just reusing it in a chain cleaner without decanting and getting the sediment out, it sounds like it would just reintroduce all the stuff to the chain each time.
