I'm not sure if this problem is because I'm a clyde (5' 11", 230 lbs) or just because of the anatomy of my male parts, but I'll post it here since I am a clyde...

I am having a heck of a time finding a pair of shorts whose pad doesn't irritate "Mr. Happy" up front. Seems that no matter what pair I try, the pad comes up much further towards my waste than it needs to in the front and on longer rides tends to cause either external chafing and irritation to the little fella, or even worse, internal inflammation of the plumbing similar to a urinary infection.

So far the only pair of shorts that I am completely happy with are a cheap pair of Canari shorts I picked up at Sports Authority. But, they are definitely a cheap pair as they are very thin, and the pad doesn't offer much thickness, although it does refrain from encroaching on Mr. Happy. I have a better pair of Pearl Izumi's and I love how they fit my legs, but like most shorts I have tried, the pad just comes up a little too far in the front.

So I'm wondering if anyone out there has had a similar problem and if you've discovered a pair of shorts with a pad that doesn't creep up in the front. Or perhaps someone has some tips on better wearing/positioning to minimize the problem. I don't want to be limited to only Canari shorts...
