I have to wrap MR Happy around my shoulder a couple of times so I don't have that problem.

But, have you tried some lube or a cream? I use Udder cream to lube the parts avoiding friction. Other riders use more expensive stuff but I get by with the cheap stuff (not much of a sweater).

Some riders also carry on a ride for a touchup.
