i have been biking for
7 months and have lost 98 lbs since starting. at first the weight came off quick because of the diet and i would ride like 15 miles every other day, but as i loved the bike more i started adding more miles. i did not go for speed i just wanted to finish the miles. As you progress you have to do more and more, now im doing more than 200 miles a week and pretty much just go for time on bike. I ride everyday. usually 25 every morning and sat and sun 3 hr rides ~60 miles.

just wake up early, get on the bike and the weight will come off with time
.
