I eat 1900 calories a day. I have not drank soda in years and quit drinking diet soda in May. I have been OCD about my eating habits. They are not perfect but I eat so many Subway 6 inch roastbeef subs w/o cheese/mayo its unreal. I think that's the part of my curiosity....... I am eating a 500 calorie deficit daily and riding every Tuesday, Thursday,Fri, sat and Sunday.
My ride has become easy except for the hills. My legs did not even get sore yesterday. I will alter the route and see if I can do 35-40 mile loop this weekend. I am running out of road on my current path so I have to seek out some new place to ride.
I am 6' and weigh 178. I weighed 190 when I started. I was not huge to start with but overweight indeed. I have lived a sedentary adult life ( I'm a pharmacist) and was smoking 6 years ago. The bike has been the best thing to happen to my health in my adult life.
Your net calories are off. Their cycling calculator is way off. I go for a rip at 19mph and their 12-13.5mph setting is closest to the real calories burned.
Go to
http://bikecalculator.com and get a more accurate burn. Then take your target and subtract 250 manually if possible. Doing this I'm at 1400 calories for my target. I'm eating all day long and it is NOT Subway.
Doing this I stopped "plateauing" and have had consistent weight loss while building leg muscle. I'm down 40 pounds and still losing.
