Roof rack and lack of lawyer lips
I picked up a Thule Prologue fork mounted roof rack to transport my SO's 2 bikes from Vancouver BC to Colorado. A mere 1400 miles at highway speeds.
Of course, her bikes do not have lawyer lips on the fork dropouts and the Thule rack has a statement that using it with bikes without lawyer lips will void the warranty. Various responses I have found on the internet range from "death and destruction" to "it will be fine if the QR is tight and you are careful".
I can pick up a hitch mounted rack since I have a hitch and mount but would rather not spend the money if I do not need to.
Thoughts?
