Deep Sky's right. Just handwash them. No electricity used, and the amount of water to soak 'em in a sink and then rinse them out isn't all that much. You can be eco-conscious without being a filthy hippie. At the very least you should bring them into the shower and rinse 'em out, especially if you're using a chamois creme.
