Insurance and permit conditions for these rides require certain rules, most are good but are not enforced too strictly, sag drivers seem to use good judgement, hopefully riders do too. Helmets are the exception to this, but if you don't want to wear a helmet you probably couldn't ride 40 miles anyway, kind of a no brainer. Yes, they are very nice people who put this on.
Thanks for the info. I'll check with them on the chow. I also don't quite get the resistance to helmets in some quarters, but many people seem to be adamantly anti-helmet. I hope their bare heads (and our helmeted ones) are never put to the test.
