I'm not sure I understand. You started out making like racing in CO was like a 10k fun run, and then ended up with a rant panning sprinters for chasing you down when you try to break away. You know... there is a winner every race, and if they are chasing you down, they are merely fancying their chances in a sprint over a breakaway. I'm pretty sure, as a generalized statement, that the racers chasing you down and racing "negatively" have a pretty high interest in winning, just like you do.

And last I heard, success is predicated on training, not on previous success. You yourself said you went from podiuming in the 4s to being pack fill in the 3s. I assume you remedied this situation by training better (you said you are a 2 now, right?). Your previous success in the Cat 4 field had little to do with your subsequent success in the 3s, except to get you into the Cat 3 field in the first place.
