Given there is an adjuster on the RD, putting an inline seems redundant,
[admission] I dont have indexed shifting on my bike . (bikes)

worked on plenty when the SIS stuff came out, in a shop, (they are related)

Now that they index the front, but don't have the barrel adjuster, having the inline to sync the preset throws and the chainrings would be practical .
