I am not sure why this is happening. but I have the same thing happening to my bike(also atrek 7.2fx) The noise on mine seems to get worse about 40 minutes in to the ride. I have just ordered new bearings for the bottom bracket to see if this helps but It is making me Crazy. I think I have narrowed it down to either the bottom bracket or the pedals. Will let you know. Similarly if you find a solution please let me know.
