Further afield, you might also get some ideas, from people who cycle on the correct side of the road, from the UK National Standards Bikeability scheme which inludes on-road training. It's gradually being rolled out across the country and replaces the old-fashioned Cycling Proficiency programme which was usually conducted in the school playground on mock road layouts.
