Some of those shoes are just like sneakers on the bottom. I can walk around all day in them. And, when I decide to put on the carbon-soled ballet shoes, that works too, and the pedal is lighter.
+1. Performance has Shimano and Keen shoes that look almost like regular shoes.

I wear velco strapped MTB shoes with cotton shorts and a tee shirt but I'm too old to care.
