i can leave my house at 5100 feet and 60ish miles later be at the top of trail ridge road, just a hair over 12,000.
I'm lucky enough to have 5 climbs that are 2000, 2300, 1300, 2500, and 1700ft all within an hour ride from my place. Go down the back side of the same ridge, and all the climbs have a corresponding climb + 200-300ft.
Starting at sea level though, so no elevation acclimation for me.
