Not in my book. I'm 57, and looking to drop 20 pounds then buy a new roadbike. The old Pinarello Treviso Italia is a bit long in the tooth, the gears are tiny by today's standards and I do need that triple and big stuff out back to get my lumpy body back up the 17% hill I live on.
Went out today and did an hour of big hills here near the hotel. Tomorrow we hit a river trail in search of some salmon. That will likely be more miles, but way less hills. Which at this point is a good thing.
Part of every month I spend here in the PNWet. I want to one day be in good enough shape to ride to work and back when I'm home. That is about 28 miles of river trail with that big mile of hill at the end of the day.
